Hello, whoever is reading this post. I hope you have had a good day. Because I certainly have! Lately, I have been working on a passion project, which I have explained in a past post, with Gabrielle. We decided to sell speculaas biscuits (dutch biscuits) to the whole school to fundraise for an African family in need. We managed to raise $61.00 YAY!!! Thank you to the people that bought a cookie. We have decided to donate that money to world vision which will use the money to get water for a person or more in Africa. Throughout last term, I participated in a tech challenge. I teamed up with Alison , Kalissa , and Gabrielle (Her blog is private) to create and code an app that solves a problem in our community.  That was when we created our app, an app to help stress problems. It is focused around 7-12-year-olds. It features four buttons Yoga, Exercise, Record, and Quotes.  We have exciting news. We made the New Zealand finalists, 4 app's in each category. North Island primary, North Island Secondary, South Island Primary and South Island Secondary.  But we recently found out we didn't get in the world finals. Oh well, we are very proud of what we achieved. 

This term, Kahikatea is doing passion projects. My passion project is....... I am going to research up on different countries traditional foods and create a menu of our chosen foods, I will organise a day for a shared lunch and cook/bake what I have chosen to fundraise for a small village in Africa.  If it all goes well we should have enough money for them to buy their food or enough money to buy food and needed supplies and ship or fly to Africa. Intro When you dance you move, you have fun. Did you know you can tell stories by dancing? There are different styles of dancing and this is all about them. Ballet Ballet is a style of dance that is slow. The music is slow and your movement is slow. You have to work hard, stretch your feet, have good posture. Ballet was originated in russia and france   In Ballet the moves are in french like a plie (which means a bend of the legs) and Arabesque, Ballet stories Using costumes, settings on stage and movement you can tell a story. You don’t have to tell a story by talking you can show the story by dancing. The popular ballet stories are, swan lake, the nutcracker, romeo and juliet and sleeping beauty, these are just a few. Pointe Pointe is when you go high up on your toes completely. You wear special shoes that have a flat end at the toes to help you go up on pointe. If you want to use an image for a commercial or something on your blog you have to do it the safe way. Step 1 Go on images and search up what you want to use Step 2 On the top right below the search bar there is settings click on that, It will come up with a few options so click on advanced search  Step 3 Scroll right to the bottom and on the left you should see usage rights. at the moment it should be on not filtered by licence well you will have to change that, if you want it on a commercial change it to free to use or share even commercially if you just want to put it on you blog just click free to use or share. My writing goals: Focus on a moment in time rather than jumping from one idea to another and structure my writing so its grammatically correct What makes a good comment Step 1 Compliment the writer. If you liked the writing tell them and tell them why. If you liked the images they choose, tell them. Step 2 Add your prior knowledge Say if they were writing about pandas and they didn't add anything about what they eat and you know something about what they eat add that to your comment. Step 3 End with a question To get a conversation going add a question so they can answer and you can have a bigger conversation.

All about me My avatar.  I'm Gypsy and I'm ten years old. My favourite book series is Scarlet and Ivy by Sophie Cleverly. I've got a dog called Dixie she's a white German shepherd My favourite YouTube channel is Rosanna Pansino because I want to be a chef when I grow up and I love to cook and discover new recipes. I do dancing and swimming. My signature hairstyle is a side ponytail and pigtails.

My fists were clutching to the side of my legs, my legs shaking at the feeling of my horrible video up on the big screen in front of 300 people. I had to be brave, I was a year six. I tried to listen to the wonderful speech but I was too busy listening to my own voice, “Tu Kaha, stand tall, I have to do that, but what does that really mean? Encourage others to do the right thing, not giving up and helping others when they are down or hurt." (Comment what you think tu kaha means) I was sweating as they pulled up my video. It was finally over! I got handed my badge. Im soo proud of myself I survived 5 (nearly 6) years at primary school. Now im going to try wear my badge everyday with pride and stand tall and strong like the kahikatea trees.

“Yay beach picnic here we come!” I'm excited to hop into the water. The water is my BFF!
